People Can Fly, creators of games like Bulletstorm, Gears of War: Judgment, and Outriders, announced a while ago that they were working on a title codenamed Project Maverick, which was rumored to be an Xbox exclusive PvP shooter based on an existing Xbox intellectual property. Contrary to speculation, it appears this game is actually one we’re already familiar with.
In January, People Can Fly publicly announced that they are supporting development for The Coalition and Xbox’s “Gears of War: E-Day,” which has now been officially named “Project Maverick.” This project was revealed when a listing for the upcoming third-person shooter appeared on People Can Fly’s official website under their ongoing projects, confirming it as “Project Maverick.
Currently, People Can Fly are engaged in two projects: one is named Project Gemini, a collaboration with Square Enix; the other, Project Delta, is derived from an intellectual property owned by PlayStation.
The video game titled “Gears of War: E-Day” is currently being worked on for both Xbox Series X/S and personal computers. As of now, there’s no official announcement regarding when it will be released, but rumors suggest a potential debut in the year 2026.
