People We Meet on Vacation Cast Revealed for Book's Movie Adaptation

As a child of the new millennium who grew up with the convenience of streaming platforms and binge-watching at my fingertips, I must confess that I’ve had the pleasure of immersing myself in some truly captivating television series based on books. Oh, the joys these stories have brought into my life!

There are some more people to meet on vacation.

The much-awaited movie based on Emily Henry’s top-selling romance novel, “People We Meet on Vacation,” has increased its star wattage by adding more prominent actors to the cast following the initial selection of Tom Blyth and Emily Bader for the main roles of Alex and Poppy.

The stars of “The Good Place,” “Emily in Paris,” “Euphoria,” and the upcoming series “White Lotus” – Jameela Jamil, Lucian Laviscount, Lukas Gage, and Sarah Catherine Hook respectively – have all been added to the cast for a new film. The movie is being helmed by director Brett Haley, who previously worked on “All the Bright Places.

The story centers around best friends Poppy and Alex—one a free spirit and the other straight laced, though with an apparent spark lingering beneath the surface—who spend their summers traveling together, meeting the aforementioned “people.”

2021 saw the publication of Henry’s most successful book yet, joining a list of hit novels such as “Happy Place,” “Book Lovers,” “Beach Read,” and the recently released “Funny Story.” Remarkably, all these titles are currently under consideration for film or TV adaptations.

After announcing the cast, Hook posted on her Instagram Story, “Reviving romantic comedies, one getaway after another,” and Jamil responded, “This is such a blast!

As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but be thrilled about the meteoric rise of two fresh talents – Blyth and Bader. The former made his grand entrance into the cinematic world with an outstanding performance as Coriolanus Snow in the prequel film to the iconic Hunger Games series, The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. Meanwhile, Bader captivates audiences as the lead in the engrossing new Amazon Prime series, My Lady Jane.

In March, Henry shared with Variety that the screenplay for “People We Meet on Vacation,” written by Yulin Kuang, has been revised multiple times.
