It seems nearly inevitable that there will be a reboot of the classic JRPG Persona 4, given that a voice actor from the original game has recently shared information about the project on social media, following several months of hints.
Yuri Lowenthal, known for his roles as both Yosuke in the game and Peter Parker in Marvel’s Spider-Man, spoke about the potential remake on Bluesky. However, he shared the news with a sense of sadness, stating: “Regrettably, I won’t be reprising my role as Yosuke for the Persona 4 remake. I inquired, even pleaded, but they don’t seem to want me back.
The implication is that, like how Atlus switched voice actors for the roles in Persona 3 Reload, Lowenthal might not be returning to his character in the Persona 4 remake, suggesting a change in the voice acting team for this project.
Following the swift commercial success of the third installment’s remake, making it the developer’s fastest-selling title, there have always been indications pointing towards the potential return of the fourth game. A suitable domain name has even been identified. With the gaming announcements season of summer just around the corner, there’s a strong possibility that an announcement for the Persona 4 remake could be imminent.
