Over the past year since “Persona 2 Reload” was released, there’s been no end to rumors and speculation hinting at a possible remake of “Persona 4”. Recently, we might have received the most compelling evidence yet that such a remake is in the works, without an official confirmation.
Actor Yuri Lowenthal, famously recognized for voicing Peter Parker/Spider-Man in Insomniac and PlayStation’s Spider-Man games, as well as the character Yosuke Hanamura in Persona 4, may have inadvertently revealed the existence of a remake during an interview.
In a recent conversation on BlueSky, Lowenthal shared that he had asked Atlus to let him reprise his role as Yosuke in the potential remake of Persona 4, but Atlus turned down the request. As of now, there’s no official announcement regarding a Persona 4 remake. Later on, Lowenthal removed his post from social media.
In response to many inquiries, the actor has clarified that he won’t reprise his role as Yosuke for the Persona 4 remake. He had requested and even pleaded, but it seems they prefer not to have him return.
It’s worth noting that earlier this year, Atlus registered a domain which appeared to be for a remake of Persona 4. This suggests that an official announcement might not be too far off. If the speculation is true, we might get some news about it during Summer Game Fest next week.
