Persona Series Has Sold 23.5 Million Units

As a seasoned gamer with decades of gaming under my belt and countless hours spent within the mystical realm of the Persona series, I can confidently say that the success of Atlus and Sega’s ventures is nothing short of astounding. With each new release, I find myself drawn back into the vibrant world of Persona, immersed in its rich storytelling and captivating gameplay.

In just a day since its release, ReFantazio by Atlus has become an instant hit, selling more than one million copies. Yet, the Persona series remains strong, as evidenced by Sega’s 2024 Annual Integrated Report showing that global sales for the series totaled an impressive 23.5 million units.

Previously, the franchise had achieved a milestone of selling 22.6 million units by March 5th, 2024. The release of Persona 3 Reload the month before boosted this number significantly with one million sales in its first week. Atlus hasn’t yet disclosed updated figures for the remaster or the influence of its recent story DLC, Episode Aigis – The Answer. However, Sega reported (translation via PersonaCentral) that the success of remasters, spin-offs, and simultaneous launches on multiple platforms has been a key factor in the increased sales for both Persona and Like a Dragon.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’m speculating that the upcoming game, tentatively known as Persona 6, might drop next year across various platforms like Nintendo’s upcoming Switch successor and Xbox. However, it’s important to note that Sega and Atlus haven’t confirmed its existence yet, so we’ll have to wait for official announcements in the coming months.
