As a movie critic with over three decades of experience under my belt, I must say that The Devil’s Hour has consistently proven itself to be one of the most captivating and thought-provoking series on television. Peter Capaldi’s character, Gideon, has repeatedly lived and died throughout different times, making him one of the rare individuals conscious of time being an infinite loop. He also retains memories from his past lives.

Currently, there’s a freshly released teaser for the approaching second installment. In it, Gideon invites Jessica Raine’s character, Lucy, to accompany him on a mission to track down and eliminate a terrifying creature.

The trailer shows us multiple different versions of Lucy’s existence, and also introduces us Saffron Hocking’s new police officer character.

You can watch the trailer for the five-episode second season right here now.

In the summary for season 2, it’s stated that “Lucy (Jessica Raine) and Gideon (Peter Capaldi) join forces reluctantly to thwart a repeated disaster and track down a mysterious beast.

In Lucy’s dual existence, she faces a challenging predicament, pulled between her family and obligations as she encounters her former husband, Detective Inspector Ravi Dhillon (Nikesh Patel), who reappears to complicate her present situation. Alongside Dhillon in his investigation is DS Sam Boyd (Saffron Hocking), a protégé of Lucy’s from her past as a detective.

In the meantime, Isaac (Benjamin Chivers) is encountering new feelings daily and finding it challenging to maintain equilibrium in a world that denies his presence. As our tales intertwine, intriguing enigmas surface, leading us towards a single pivotal instant that will shape the destiny of our characters for the remainder of their perpetual cycles.

At a gathering named Prime Video Presents: Trailblazers before the unveiling of the trailer, Raine commented: “Season 2 resolves open-ended queries from Season 1, providing an exciting journey packed with concealed Easter eggs.

As the spectator, you’re tasked with solving a mystery much like piecing together a complex puzzle. The more attentive you are, the more pieces fall into place. And when you finally unravel it, the sense of accomplishment is immensely fulfilling, just as completing a challenging 2000-piece jigsaw would be.

Absolutely, viewers won’t only receive their rewards in season 2, but there’s also a third and concluding season in store. Interestingly, that part of the story has already been filmed.
