The remake premiered at Fantastic Fanfest in 2023 and received favorable reviews, almost scoring perfectly on Rotten Tomatoes. However, it faced difficulties finding a distribution deal due to its intense violence. This raised questions about whether “The Toxic Avenger” would ever be seen again.
