As a gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I can confidently say that the arrival of Phasmophobia on consoles is akin to finding a long-lost treasure map. The anticipation was palpable, and the delays were certainly testing our patience, but now, as we stand on the precipice of Halloween, it’s clear that this spooky season will be more terrifying than ever before.
If events had unfolded as anticipated, Phasmophobia’s release on consoles would have taken place a year ago, but as they say, better late than never! However, the long-awaited cooperative horror title from Kinetic Games has finally arrived on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PS VR2, perfectly timed for Halloween celebrations.
Phasmophobia offers cross-platform compatibility, enabling gamers from different systems to join forces on various game maps. Their objective is to solve mysteries, locate and recognize various types of paranormal beings, and avoid getting eliminated, all while collaborating effectively.
According to the latest updates from the game’s developer, the game can be played in 4K resolution and 60 frames per second (FPS) on both PS5 and Xbox Series X. Interestingly, the Xbox Series X version also offers a 120 FPS option. However, when it comes to the Xbox Series S, it runs at 1080p with a steady 60 FPS, but there are no additional graphics options available.
The horror game “Phasmophobia” can be played on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation VR2, and personal computers. Earlier this year, Kinetic Games shared that the game has surpassed 20 million units in sales since its early access debut in 2020.
