Reality show star and Duck Dynasty personality Phil Robertson has passed away. He was 79 years old.
On May 25th, Korie Robertson, who is married to Willie (Phil Robertson’s son), confirmed the sad news of Phil’s passing. The family issued a statement to make this announcement. Unfortunately, no other specific details about his death were shared, but it was previously known that he had Alzheimer’s disease and was also battling a blood disorder.
Today, we rejoice as our beloved Phil Robertson, our father, husband, and grandfather, has joined the Lord. Much like the teachings of Paul, he frequently reminded us not to sorrow as those without hope. Instead, we believe that just as Jesus died and rose again, God will bring with Jesus all those who have passed away in faith.
His life, marked by grace, strong faith, and a passion to spread the Good News of Jesus, has touched countless lives. We are thankful for every moment he spent on earth, and we’ll carry forward his legacy of love for God and love for people until we reunite with him. Many of you have been moved by his life, and we understand that. For now, we’re holding a private service, but more details about a public tribute to his life will be shared soon.
News arises that Korie and Willie are set to star in a fresh adaptation of their successful TV show, “Duck Dynasty,” now titled “Duck Dynasty: The Revival.” This upcoming series is slated for release in June. Previously, the family was part of the original “Duck Dynasty,” which premiered on A&E in 2012. During its run until 2017, it ranked among the top reality shows on TV. Robertson also showcased his hunting skills on the Outdoor Channel’s program “Duck Commander,” and launched a business under the same name, specializing in duck calls and related merchandise.
Behind the camera, Robertson gained recognition for his strong religious beliefs and unwavering commitment to his values. In 2013, he sparked debate with comments concerning the LGBTQ+ community, leading to a temporary suspension from Duck Dynasty. However, his supporters stood by him, and the suspension was lifted in less than two weeks. The show’s production schedule remained unaffected as a result.
Previously, a biopic titled “The Blind: The Real Story of the Robertson Family” was produced, showcasing Phil Robertson portrayed by Aron von Andrian, while Ronan Carroll and Matthew Erick White took on the roles of his younger selves.
In a video shared on his YouTube channel in 2023, Robertson asked that people not cry for him when he passes away. Instead, he encouraged them to dance and sing, celebrating his life rather than mourning his death. He said, “When I die, you say, ‘He made it.’ I’ve walked through the years, with pain or no pain, and you were there to witness it.
