The Duck Dynasty family is mourning the loss of Phil Robertson.
It’s been confirmed by his family that the TV personality, who had Alzheimer’s disease and went public with his diagnosis in December, passed away on May 25. He was 79 years old.
Today, we rejoice as our beloved patriarch, Phil Robertson, has joined the heavens. This message comes from his cherished daughter-in-law, Korie Robertson, who is wed to Willie Robertson. Many hearts have been touched by his life, a testament of grace, unwavering faith, and an eagerness to share the Gospel of Jesus. We are thankful for the time he spent among us on earth and will keep his legacy of love for God and mankind alive until we meet him again.
Korie went on to say, “Many of you hold a special place in your hearts for him, and he’s left an indelible mark on your lives. At present, we’re holding a private ceremony to honor him, but we’ll announce plans for a public tribute to his life shortly.
I, being an ardent admirer, echo the sentiments shared by Phil’s granddaughter, Sadie Robertson. Reminiscing about our last moments together, she penned a heartfelt tribute on Instagram. In her words, “One of the final things he whispered to me was ‘full strength ahead!’ Indeed!
Phil’s diagnosis was made public in December by his son, Jase Robertson.
Speaking on the “Unashamed with the Robertson Family” podcast, he shared that the doctors are confident that he is suffering from a type of blood disorder which is wreaking havoc throughout his body. It’s progressing rapidly, leading to various complications.
Jase mentioned that Phil, who featured on the A&E show “Duck Dynasty” alongside his family from 2012 to 2017, is facing some difficulties and having a hard time.
Last month, Jase shared an update on Phil’s health.
Regardless of where I am, the most frequent question I encounter is, ‘How’s your father?’ which he discussed on the April 2nd episode of Unashamed with the Robertson Family. He frankly admitted, ‘Things aren’t going well for him.’
In my own words, I’m giving it my all, as a devoted son, alongside my cherished mother Kay Robertson and my brothers Alan and Jep. To me, it seems like that’s simply the path we choose to tread.

In the year 2020, Phil Robertson of “Duck Dynasty” fame found out that he had fathered a daughter named Phyllis many years prior during an extramarital relationship. This revelation prompted him to reestablish contact with his long-lost child and even take her on a duck hunting trip together.
Phyllis expressed her gratitude on Instagram last November, stating, “I’m so grateful that God has reunited us after such a long time. His timing is always impeccable, and each day and fresh encounter feels like a precious gift.
Phyllis titled this January 2021 photo “The end of my first duck hunting season was fantastic!” She also shared that exactly a year ago, she began her life with her genuine father after the paternity test results were confirmed. There have been highs and lows on this rollercoaster journey, but as Romans 8:28 says, “In all things, God works for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.” I’m incredibly grateful that both this day and this anniversary concluded so positively.
In 2021, Phil Robertson, along with his wife Kay (also known as Miss Kay), extended an invitation to Phyllis and her spouse to join them in celebrating Easter with their family members, which included his brother Si Robertson, as part of their festivities.
Phil taught Phyllis how to make mayhaw jelly in May 2021.
Phyllis celebrated her first Father’s Day with Phil in 2021.
She posted on Instagram, “My dad showed me how to prepare a scrumptious crawfish gratin today. It was an unforgettable Father’s Day, the very first one we’ve celebrated together.
Phyllis celebrated Christmas 2021 with Phil, Miss Kay, along with their grown children Al Robertson, Jase Robertson, Willie Robertson, and Jep Robertson.
The Robertson family went duck hunting in November 2022.
2022-23 duck hunting season has officially ended for Phyllis, covering areas from northeastern Louisiana to southeastern Kansas. She found joy in bonding with her father, family, and friends, engaging in insightful conversations about faith, appreciating the beauty of nature, learning new skills, supporting a missions fundraiser, and spreading the Word. Not only that, but they also harvested some waterfowl, making for a truly fulfilling season!
In a post on Instagram in April 2023, Phil expressed his warm wishes for a happy Easter, celebrating the miracle of resurrection, the hope we find in Jesus, and the exciting future it promises. He hopes that their story – one of finding light and hope in the living Savior – becomes your story too. On behalf of our family, Happy Easter to yours!
