As someone who has been collecting classic video games for over two decades, I’ve seen my fair share of price fluctuations and rarity-driven market madness. However, the current state of affairs surrounding Piglet’s Big Game is nothing short of absurd! I remember picking up a copy at a garage sale for $5 back in the day – now it’s being resold for over 10 times its original value!
The sensationally popular game based on Winnie the Pooh character Piglet, titled “Piglet’s Big Adventure“, has recently seen its resale prices skyrocket to as much as $150 and beyond. This month, the game gained massive attention on social media platforms such as X and TikTok after it was noticed that it drew inspiration from Konami’s Silent Hill series. As a result, many have been captivated by “Piglet’s Big Adventure“, with some eager to acquire a physical copy for PlayStation 2 or Nintendo GameCube. However, those choosing this route have discovered that they must shell out a considerable sum of money to own it.
Since the popularity of “Piglet’s Big Game” has skyrocketed, resale prices for this title have surged up to 10-15 times their original cost. Before this month, the game was typically priced between $10 and $15 on secondary markets. For nearly a decade, this price range had been consistent for “Piglet’s Big Game”. However, over just the past week, everything has changed dramatically. Confirmed sales on eBay show that the game is selling for as high as $160, with other transactions reaching prices of $120, $130, or even $150 for complete editions.
It’s quite ironic that the price tag on “Piglet’s Big Game” has skyrocketed, given that other survival-horror games from the same era, such as “Silent Hill 2,” “Rule of Rose,” “Kuon,” and “Haunting Ground,” are usually the most expensive PS2 and GameCube titles. In fact, these games often fetch hundreds of dollars today. Therefore, it’s almost absurd yet fitting to see “Piglet’s Big Game” among these classic horror games that command high prices.

If you’re keen on getting a copy of “Piglet’s Big Game“, I’d suggest being patient for now. Due to its immense popularity, prices are skyrocketing, which is why it’s currently quite expensive. However, in the near future, you might find that its price will decrease slightly and become more affordable. Keep in mind though, it may never return to its original price range of $10-$15, and could remain one of the pricier and elusive licensed games for the PS2 and GameCube.
