Piper Rockelle's Mom Tiffany Smith to Pay $1.85 Million in Abuse Case

As an ardent follower of the YouTube scene, I’ve watched Piper Rockelle grow from a bubbly kid into a teen sensation. However, the recent turn of events has left me utterly disheartened. The allegations against Tiffany Smith, her mom, and supposed “brother” Hunter Hill are truly shocking and distressing. If these claims are proven true, it’s a stark reminder that even in the brightest spotlight, darkness can lurk.

One YouTuber’s legal troubles are coming to a head.

Tiffany Smith, the mother of popular YouTuber Piper Rockelle, has reached a settlement worth $1.85 million following accusations of abuse and exploitation by 11 teen content creators. These allegations were made against her, according to attorneys for the plaintiffs as reported by NBC News.

In a January 2022 complaint filed by some teens, Piper Rockelle Inc., Smith (aged 43), and Hunter Hill (age 27) – who, interestingly, are said to be Smith’s boyfriend despite his claiming to be Rockelle’s brother on social media – were mentioned. The allegation is that these individuals were part of the “Squad” featured on Piper Rockelle’s YouTube channel from 2017 to 2020, as stated in the complaint obtained by TopMob News.

According to the claim, the creators assert that their efforts significantly increased Rockelle’s channel, but it came at a high cost for them – physically, emotionally, and financially. They also allege that they were subjected to various forms of abuse, including emotional, verbal, physical, and even sexual, by Piper’s mother, as stated in the complaint.

TopMob News has attempted to get a response from representatives of Smith, Rockelle, Hill, along with the plaintiffs’ lawyer, for their comments, yet we have not received any replies so far.

Eleven minor content creators collectively sought compensation of $22 million, claiming they hadn’t been compensated for their contributions to and appearances in Rockelle’s videos.

Representatives from the Dhillon Law Group, speaking on behalf of the claimants, informed NBC News that Smith agreed to the settlement without admitting any fault.

The complaint highlighted that during their collaboration, Smith primarily handled the production, direction, and supervision of content creation on her daughter’s YouTube channel.

In a different phrase, the lawsuit claims that “On numerous occasions, Ms. Smith made highly offensive and suggestive sexual remarks and suggestions towards the Defendants.

In simpler terms, certain comments reportedly refer to one Squad member’s penis as “Dwayne the Rock Hard Johnson,” and in another instance, it is claimed that she made a comment about another Squad member saying, “I wonder if since (this Squad member) has freckles, whether he has lots of freckles on his genitalia.

The complaint also notes that Smith asked multiple accusers “whether they have had sex before, including oral sex, and then encouraging Plaintiffs to try oral sex.”

Additionally, it was claimed that Smith and Hill collaborated in an attempt to undermine the 11 YouTubers’ individual channels following their departure from the group, by being told by Smith to ‘degrade’ or ‘negatively impact’ these channels. (Ms. Smith often directed Mr. Hill to ‘bring down’ or ‘diminish’ the teenagers’ YouTube channels.)

A short while later, Smith wondered aloud as to why she was being taken to court for supposed violations of labor rights during the filming of content within her residence, instead of the content creators themselves.

In a conversation with the Los Angeles Times in December 2022, she stated that she has consistently adhered to the law and never viewed herself as an ’employer.’ Regarding children gathering spontaneously to produce videos, she considers it more of a mutual collaboration rather than employment.

Smith stated, “The foundation of this entire case is built upon falsehoods fueled by fiscal envy towards a fifteen-year-old girl.

Apart from the lawsuit allegations, Hill additionally refuted accusations of abuse. Speaking to the LA Times, he expressed bewilderment as to why the Squad members appeared agitated, remarking, “These individuals earn more in a single year than what my mother makes in total.
