Here is an overview of the game, via its Steam page:

About

“…Where is Sakurako? I should send her a message.”

In “Waiting for Reply”, you engage with the storyline primarily via your mobile device, creating an immersive experience.

Instead of using regular apps outside the game, utilize built-in gaming applications for sending messages, reviewing emails, snapping pictures, and examining weather predictions. These features significantly aid in revealing the narrative and customizing your experience within the game.

Story

Saturday morning. Tokyo Station. Ritsuka was waiting for Sakurako.

Despite the set time, Sakurako failed to appear. Assuming she may have mixed up the meeting spot, Ritsuka messaged her first and then departed for the station, hopping on a train.

Instead of Sakurako, a stranger who resembled her was occupying the reserved seat; this mysterious woman was called Aoi.

Standing there perplexed by Aoi’s appearance, and her tears occupying another person’s seat, the train set off, thus launching an unforeseen shared voyage for Ritsuka and Aoi.

Or, more casually:
As Ritsuka was bewildered by Aoi showing up – and finding her weeping in another passenger’s spot – the train took off, signaling the start of an unexpected adventure for Ritsuka and Aoi.
