Planet Coaster 2 Roadmap Outlines Upcoming Improvements, Returning Rides, and More

Last year’s release of Frontier Developments’ Planet Coaster 2 wasn’t the most seamless one, and the introduction of paid DLC added to the frustration. Yet, the team has vowed to address these issues, as outlined in their recently unveiled 2025 roadmap.

In February, you’ll witness the introduction of personalized video billboards and speakers, swappable roller coaster cars, standard roller coasters, and synchronized rides. The Pathos 3 flat ride from the initial game makes a comeback as well. Simultaneously, there will be tweaks to multi-selection, user navigation, and various other aspects, along with enhancements in performance, economy, and overall stability.

In March, Update 2 is set to introduce an often-requested feature: passengers exiting flumes. Additionally, it will include round-bottomed flumes and the ability for inflatables to deform. This update also allows Career mode maps to serve as starting layouts in Sandbox mode and reintroduces a popular ride with the second part of pre-made coasters. The developers have promised further improvements in areas such as stability, performance, management, and other aspects, along with adjustments for ride attendants.

Outside of new additions, April appears quite bare, with May offering little more. Therefore, we’ll be providing more information in the upcoming months. The upcoming Frontier will incorporate elements from the original game, but further details are yet to be revealed. For now, mark your calendars for February 26th as that’s when the next Frontier Unlocked livestream is scheduled, where Updates 2 and 3 will be discussed in detail.

The sequel to “Planet Coaster” can be played on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and also PC platforms. You can read our review of the PS5 edition by clicking here.
