The news about Ninja Gaiden 4 brings a glimmer of hope for PlatinumGames‘ future, but it appears that they are losing some high-profile employees.
According to a video observed by VGC, it seems that Hideki Kamiya, former Vice President of PlatinumGames and an industry veteran, implied that Yusuke Miyata (creator of Bayonetta 3), Takahisa Taura (developer of Astral Chain), Kenji Saito (creator of Metal Gear Rising), and Masaki Yamanaka (developer of Anarchy Reigns) have all departed from the company.
Indeed, Kamiya left the studio last year and subsequently founded Clover Studio in partnership with Capcom. Now, this new venture is focusing on a sequel to the beloved action-adventure game, Okami. Notably, a significant portion of the current Clover team previously worked alongside Kamiya at PlatinumGames.
Lately, Housemarque has hired Abebe Tinari, the director of Bayonetta Origins, as their lead designer. This move seems to be a significant departure or shift for the highly esteemed developer.
Of course, it’s worth noting that the studio continues to work on Ninja Gaiden 4 in partnership with Team Ninja, indicating a promising trajectory for the project. It will be intriguing to observe what steps PlatinumGames takes next and how they navigate through these recent departures.
