Over the weekend, Bungie conducted an Alternate Reality Game (ARG), and they have now revealed their upcoming multiplayer game titled Marathon, which will be released later this week on April 12th, 2025. By collaborating, the community managed to discover a “save the date” trailer that offers a quick, vibrant glimpse into the world of Marathon. You can watch it above.
Starting last Friday, there was a playful commencement across all PlayStation’s social media platforms as they showcased neon green graphics associated with the game. Following this, simulated emergency alerts from the Marathon account surfaced, and enthusiasts were given the opportunity to participate in an Alternate Reality Game (ARG).
It appears that even though we haven’t been included, certain news organizations have had an opportunity to experience and test the game at pre-launch events, with a handful of participants subtly hinting at details by flashing their passes.
According to developer Bungie, their upcoming game titled Marathon is set to launch on both PC and Xbox Series X|S. Since members of the press have already had a chance to play it, we might see its release by the end of this year. The official gameplay reveal event for Marathon, as advertised, will occur on April 12th at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm BST.
