To enhance the inclusivity of the PS5 gaming experience, Sony appears to have partnered with Raylo, a company based in the UK. This partnership makes it possible for individuals to rent a PS5 through the PlayStation Direct UK website. The rental scheme, known as Flex, enables users to lease a PS5, starting at £10.99 per month for the Digital Edition console model.

Based on Sony’s statement, individuals enrolled in the Flex program can choose to pay for leasing a PS5 or its add-ons on a monthly basis, providing them the convenience to terminate the lease at any point. Additionally, there are options available for long-term leases of up to 36 months, which include 12, 24, and 36 month plans. Selecting one of these longer terms results in a reduced monthly rental cost for the systems.
The leased consoles and accessories also include a lifetime warranty.
It is important to understand that when a user opts for a long-term subscription, they do not actually own the hardware they are leasing. In fact, The Standard points out that terminating one of these long-term leases after the initial 14 days will result in cancellation fees, which are determined by the duration of the lease itself.
Starting this month, Sony lowered the cost of their PlayStation VR2 headset from its initial price of $549.99 to a more affordable $399.99. The PlayStation VR2 “Horizon Call of the Mountain” package is also available at the same price point.
