As a long-time PlayStation gamer who has been following the Horizon series since its inception, I must admit that the recent announcement of the Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered leaves me with mixed feelings. On one hand, I’m thrilled about the prospect of revisiting Aloy’s world with enhanced visuals and gameplay. However, on the other hand, the sudden increase in price from $20 to $39.99 feels a bit harsh, especially considering how often the game used to go on sale for as low as $7.99 or even free with PS Plus.

Seven years following its debut, PlayStation is updating the original release of “Horizon Zero Dawn”. Sony unveiled this news earlier in the week, introducing the “Horizon Zero Dawn: Ultimate Edition”, which will be available on PS5 and PC starting October 31. As anticipated, the upgrade includes visual enhancements that bring the 2017 PS4 game closer to its 2022 PS5 successor, “Horizon Forbidden West”. To accomplish this, there are some modifications to the visuals.

Upon the launch of “Horizon Forbidden West”, many fans immediately picked up on alterations to the appearance of the main character, Aloy. In the beginning, some PlayStation enthusiasts voiced their opinion that Guerrilla Games had made the character less appealing. Yet, there are instances where no company has followed this trend. Essentially, this practice isn’t universally accepted across the industry. To put it simply, some PlayStation enthusiasts aren’t pleased about this change.

In fact, its price dropped as low as $7.99, and at times it was even offered free of charge with PS Plus.
