Astro Bot has shown itself to be not just a hit among Sony games, but also one of the most critically acclaimed games ever made. Since its release and multiple awards, the CEO of PlayStation, Hermen Hulst, has announced plans to expand Astro Bot into a long-lasting and iconic series for PlayStation. In other words, fans can expect more adventures with the charming little robot in the future.
The news stems from a video discussion about Sony’s financial report involving Hulst. In this presentation, he refers to Astro Bot as a massive success that has gained universal praise and considers it an up-and-coming intellectual property with a promising future. Given the game’s success, it seems logical to expand the franchise into a key component of Sony’s collection.
Beginning July 10th, five additional stages are set to debut in the game “Astro But“. These stages will enhance the game’s content with new courses and characters. The upcoming stages are named Twin-Frog Trouble, Suck It Up, Handhold Havoc, and High Inflation. The fifth level is yet to be revealed, but Team Asobi hinted at a new character for “Ghost of Yotei“. Additionally, they’ve teased a fresh feature upon finishing these challenging Vicious Void levels.
The announcement that there would be more of the popular game, Astro Bot, received positive feedback; however, some fans expressed hope that it wouldn’t result in a yearly release cycle. Part of Astro Bot’s success stemmed from the extensive development period and the care taken to perfect the game. Many fans are hoping Sony will just let Team Asobi work at their own pace and are willing to wait for the next game to be fully ready.
