PlayStation's DualSense Edge Controller Just Got Even Better

As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I must say that Sony’s latest update for the DualSense Edge controller is nothing short of a game-changer! I’ve been using this controller since its launch last year and I can confidently say it was already the cream of the crop. But now, with the ability to fine-tune its functionality on PC, it has truly outdone itself.

Sony has significantly enhanced their DualSense Edge controller for PlayStation 5, offering an even superior gaming experience compared to before. Debuted towards the end of last year, the DualSense Edge was Sony’s premier high-end controller designed exclusively for PS5. Although priced at $200, we firmly believe it to be the unrivaled best controller available on the latest PlayStation console. With a new update almost a year since its release, Sony has focused on improving the controller’s performance on PC.

In a recent update for the PlayStation Accessories app on computers, Sony has enabled DualSense Edge users to adjust how their controller performs on the platform. The same features that the Edge offers on PS5, including custom profiles, stick sensitivity, and button configurations, can now be personalized on PC due to this update. It’s important to mention that while other DualSense controllers work with PCs, only those who own the Edge will have access to these customization options.

Beginning today, I, an avid PC gamer, am thrilled to tap into the complete customizable might of the DualSense Edge controller without any barriers.

The enhancement of the DualSense Edge is remarkable in numerous ways. Primarily, it empowers users to extract even more functionality from the controller on a PC compared to just using it with PS5. On top of that, this move underscores Sony’s commitment to actively invest in the PC gaming market. Although Sony has ported popular exclusives like Spider-Man, God of War, and Ghost of Tsushima to the platform recently, they have also been working on introducing new hardware accessories for PC. In August, Sony launched an adapter for PlayStation VR2 headsets that allows seamless use on PC. The release of this adapter, combined with the update for DualSense Edge, indicates that Sony is equally keen on making the PC a key part of their strategy, just as they are with the latest PlayStation console.
