Pokemon Champions Announced for Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android

During the latest Pokemon Presents event, a gameplay trailer and details for Pokemon Legends: Z-A were unveiled, but Nintendo also announced another title in the series – Pokemon Champions. This upcoming game is set to release on Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android devices. While there isn’t an animated trailer yet, you can still watch the announcement trailer featuring live-action footage and CG.

Created by The Pokemon Company and managed by Game Freak for the camera movements, “Pokemon Champions” primarily emphasizes battles (as shown in the trailer, showcasing their progression over the years). It guarantees “familiar” gameplay mechanics such as distinct Pokemon types and abilities, thereby fostering a game setting that encourages diverse and strategic gameplay for both new and seasoned trainers.

It turns out that you don’t need to rely solely on Pokemon characters inside the game itself. With the help of Pokemon HOME, you can actually introduce classic monsters into the fray. This platform offers cross-platform compatibility between Nintendo Switch and mobile devices, as well as multiple modes. It seems like it could offer a Ranked mode (among other things), but we’ll have to wait and see.

Hey there fellow gamers! Exciting news on the horizon – I’ve been keeping my eyes peeled for updates on Pokemon Champions, but as of now, we don’t have a solid release date yet. So, keep your fingers crossed and stay tuned for more details in the coming months!

Now, if you’re looking for something a bit further down the line, mark your calendars – Pokemon Legends: Z-A is set to launch late next year (2025) on Nintendo Switch. However, there’s still no word yet whether it will also be released on the rumored Switch 2 platform. Keep an eye on the news for more details!
