Pokemon Day 2025 Livestream to Reveal Pokemon Legends: Z-A

On Thursday, February 27th, it’s officially confirmed that The Pokemon Company will be hosting a livestream event called “Pokemon Presents.” Previously, fans had speculated about this event, but now we know for certain that it’s happening. The broadcast will start at 9 a.m. Eastern Time and can be viewed on their official YouTube channel. The duration of the presentation is currently unknown, as it has ranged significantly in length from one year to another, based on how much content The Pokemon Company plans to share. With this in mind, we can anticipate some exciting revelations during the upcoming livestream.

It’s highly anticipated that during the Pokemon Presents event, we’ll mainly get a glimpse of “Pokemon Legends: Z-A,” a Nintendo Switch game that was initially previewed last year. The reveal hinted at a comeback to the Kalos region and an emphasis on Mega Evolutions. We already know that the game is scheduled for release in 2025, and fans have been eagerly waiting for updates since then. Pokemon Day seems like the ideal moment for Game Freak to finally unveil what they’ve been developing.

Beyond the realm of “Pokemon Legends: Z-A”, it’s hard to predict what other Pokemon-related content might surface. Typically, Pokemon Day events disclose updates on ongoing games like “Pokemon Go”, “Pokemon Sleep”, “Pokemon Unite”, and “Pokemon Cafe Remix”. We can anticipate that “Pokemon TCG Pocket” will likely receive an update too. As for the physical Pokemon Trading Card Game, there might be some news unveiled as well.

Regarding the Pokemon Trading Card Game (TCG), we could potentially hear some fresh information.

With “Pokemon Scarlet & Violet – Journey Together” set to launch in March, leaks suggest another expansion arriving in May. This Pokemon Day might witness an official announcement for “Destined Rivals”.

It’s plausible that we may hear updates on the potential Nintendo Switch 2, given that Pokemon Legends: Z-A is set for the current system. This could mean that a spin-off game like a sequel to Pokken Tournament or New Pokemon Snap is in development for Nintendo’s upcoming console. It’s been a while since we’ve seen a new Mystery Dungeon, too. However, it appears unlikely that we’ll see a new Pokemon generation unveiled anytime soon; while it’s been over two years since the release of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, it seems more probable that the 10th generation won’t be released until 2026, coinciding with the franchise’s 30th anniversary. We might get a hint about this, but The Pokemon Company might prefer to wait until next year’s Pokemon Day for any official announcement.

In less than a week, Pokémon Day is upon us, and I can hardly contain my excitement! This annual event has grown increasingly special over the years, something that the fan community eagerly anticipates. Here’s hoping this year’s presentation delivers plenty of thrilling revelations to keep us on our toes for the remainder of 2025 and beyond.
