Pokemon Go Adding Mega Mawile in New Raid Day Event

As a seasoned Pokémon Go trainer with years of experience under my belt, I must say that the announcement of Mega Mawile‘s debut in the game has sent a thrill down my spine! It’s always exciting to see new additions, especially when it comes to the elusive and intriguing world of Mega Evolutions.

Hey there fellow Pokémon Go enthusiasts! I’ve got some exciting news for us all – a brand new Raid Day event is on its way! Niantic has just announced that Mega Mawile is joining our game on Saturday, October 12th. From 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., local time, keep your eyes peeled for the Steel/Fairy-type popping up in Mega Raids. And get this – there’s an increased chance of encountering a Shiny Mawile during this event!

Initially seen in “Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire”, Mawile was later given its Mega Evolution in “Pokemon X and Y”. This was among the initial set of Mega Evolutions. It’s a bit unexpected that Mega Mawile didn’t show up in “Pokemon Go” until now, but there are still many Pokemon yet to be introduced in the mobile version. Currently, Mega Evolutions for popular picks like Metagross, Gallade, and Sharpedo are absent, but it’s likely they’ll join the game at some point down the line!

What Does Shiny Mawile Look Like?

In the Pokémon game, the Shiny form of Mawile isn’t particularly spectacular in its base state, but it transforms quite dramatically when Mega Evolved. The massive jaws of Mawile turn a noticeable pink, as do the black areas on the creature. In contrast, its body becomes lighter in color. However, the real transformation occurs when Mawile Mega Evolves; the jaws become a deeper shade of pink, and the yellow parts take on a golden hue. If you’ve already encountered a Shiny Mawile in Pokémon Go, that might be the one you should consider Mega Evolving! An image of Shiny Mawile from Pokémon Sword and Shield can be found below.

Mega Mawile isn’t the only Pokemon whose Shiny form improves upon Mega Evolution. Gengar shares this trait; while its Shiny version is relatively inconspicuous compared to its regular coloring, when it undergoes Mega Evolution, it transforms into a striking bright white.
