Pokemon Go Adding New Shinies and Another Master Ball Opportunity in New Event

As a longtime Pokemon enthusiast who has been chasing rare creatures since the days of Red and Blue, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming Galarian Expedition Event in Pokemon Go! The opportunity to add Shiny versions of Zamazenta, Galarian Articuno, Galarian Zapdos, and Galarian Moltres to my collection is simply too enticing to resist.

This season, the main theme of Pokemon Go will persist with content from Pokemon Sword and Shield, starting from a new event called the Galarian Expedition Event in early October. This event introduces four new Shiny Pokemon: Zamazenta, Galarian Articuno, Galarian Zapdos, and Galarian Moltres into the game. The event commences on Friday, October 4th at 10 a.m. local time and concludes on Friday, October 11th at 8 p.m. local time. During this week, you’ll find Zamazenta in Five-Star Raids, but remember that the three Galarian Legendary Birds can still be found using Adventure Incense.

In the game, the Galarian Legendary Birds often fly off rapidly, making them hard to catch. Players can rejoice because they are given another chance to obtain a Master Ball, but there’s a condition: you must finish new Masterwork Research, which costs $7.99. Alongside the Master Ball, players will also gain XP, Stardust, and encounters with unique Galarian versions of characters like Mr. Mime and Farfetch’d. It’s up to each player to decide if this price is worth it, but it provides an opportunity for those seeking additional Master Balls.

As a dedicated Pokémon fan, I must say that the Shiny versions of the Galarian Legendary Birds are nothing short of spectacular! They all adhere to a distinct pattern: the Shiny forms mimic the color patterns of their counterparts from Kanto. That means each one maintains the innovative redesigns we witnessed in Pokémon Sword and Shield, yet incorporates the original colors – blue for Articuno, yellow for Zapdos, and orange for Moltres.

Immediately following the introduction of Shiny Zacian in Pokemon Go (set for release soon), Shiny Zamazenta will start to show up. The Shiny form of Zamazenta sports a distinct color scheme compared to its standard counterpart. Where the usual body is red, this version has been changed to dark pink, and the blue hair has been switched with red. If you didn’t grab a Shiny Zamazenta during the giveaway in Pokemon Sword and Shield some time back, this could be your ideal chance!
