Pokemon Go Adding Tandemaus in New Event, But There's a Catch

As a dedicated gamer and long-time fan of the Pokemon franchise, I’m thrilled to see Tandemaus and its evolved form Maushold making their way into Pokemon Go as part of the upcoming Better Together event. The fact that these Normal-type Pokemon are debuting through Party Play encounters or specific tasks adds an extra layer of excitement for me.

Over the past year, Pokemon Go has been gradually introducing Pokémon from Pokemon Scarlet and Violet in the Paldea region. Starting this week, a new event called “Better Together” begins, marking the game debut of Tandemaus and its evolved form Maushold. This is exciting news for Normal-type Pokémon fans, but keep in mind that Tandemaus won’t be found in the wild just yet. Instead, players can discover it through Party Play encounters or by completing specific Field Research tasks and Timed Research. With numerous other Pokémon involved in those task encounters, Party Play might prove to be the most effective method.

Niantic is encouraging fans to engage in outdoor social activities through the Party Play feature in Pokemon Go. It’s appropriate that Tandemaus, the Couple Pokemon, can only be evolved into Maushold with the collaboration of multiple players. To evolve a Tandemaus into Maushold, you will need 50 Candy pieces. In Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, Maushold has two distinct forms – one with three members and another with four. It remains unclear if this duality will also apply in Pokemon Go.

Starting from July 17th, 10 a.m. local time, and concluding on July 22nd, 8 p.m. local time, the Better Together event will take place. During this period, players can enjoy various perks. The Candy earned from catching Pokémon will be doubled, making it simpler to evolve Tandemaus. Additionally, players will gain four times the XP from catching Pokémon. In line with the collaborative theme, Friendship levels between trainers will grow faster when they engage in activities such as trading, exchanging Gifts, or joining forces for Raids, Gym battles, or Trainer Battles.

Enthusiasts of Tandemaus are in for a treat as Pokemon Go introduces some fresh avatar accessories to mark its debut. Coming soon are the Tandemaus Hoodie and Slippers which fans can purchase. The cost for these new items hasn’t been disclosed yet, but they will be up for grabs during the event.
