Pokemon Go Announces Mega Rayquaza Makeup Event

Pokemon Go Announces Mega Rayquaza Makeup Event

As a dedicated Pokemon Go player, I was both excited and frustrated with the recent Mega Rayquaza event. Catching this legendary Pokemon was a dream come true for many of us, but the way Niantic rolled out the event left many feeling let down.

Recently, “Pokemon Go” players had the opportunity to capture the highly sought-after Mega Rayquaza during a sequence of Elite Raids. While numerous players succeeded, many others encountered frustration due to the unpredictable timing of the Raid Eggs that were rumored to increase the likelihood of spawning a Mega Rayquaza. Unfortunately, these eggs appeared in gyms at inconvenient moments, providing insufficient notice for players to organize and attempt the already challenging raid. In response to this feedback, Niantic has declared that they will hold a compensatory event, giving players another opportunity to catch a Mega Rayquaza.

In early June, Niantic announced unexpectedly that eggs would become available at eligible Gyms at 6:00 AM local time on Saturday, June 29. Players expressed concern that this short notice made it challenging for them to organize Elite Raid attempts, as Mega Rayquaza raids were scheduled for the same day and required physical attendance to participate.

At the same time that Niantic recognized an issue hindering players from accessing Mega Rayquaza raids in Pokemon Go, they announced their intention to prepare a form of compensation.

As a dedicated gamer, I’d rephrase it like this: “I’m glad to announce that Niantic has fixed the problem preventing some of us from accessing Mega Rayquaza Elite Raids. We’ll be making things right for those impacted gamers, and I’ll keep you updated with more information as soon as it’s available.”

The confirmed date for the makeup Mega Rayquaza event is August 3rd. Unlike the initial event which offered four rounds of Elite Raids, this revised version will include just two separate instances. Regardless, it provides players a second opportunity to attempt catching Mega Rayquaza if they encountered difficulties during the original event.

Niantic announced that due to certain complications with Elite Raids involving Mega Rayquaza, two global events are scheduled for all trainers. These events will take place on August 3, 2024 at 1:00 pm and 6:00 pm in your local time. Further information about these events will be shared on the blog shortly.
