Pokémon Go Community Day: August date and what to expect

As a long-time Pokémon Trainer, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming Community Day event featuring Popplio! With over two decades of catching ’em all under my belt, I’ve learned that these events are not to be missed.

Niantic has announced that the upcoming Pokemon Go Community Day will take place in August 2024, with the spotlight Pokemon for this event being revealed.

Every month, there’s a special Community Day event where we get to engage with the game, take a stroll, and enjoy interactive play with other users.

On select occasions, a particular Pokémon becomes more common for a brief period. If you manage to evolve this Pokémon during the event or within five hours following it, they’ll acquire a special move as an added ability.

In addition, the Community Day Classic event will resurrect a previous Community Day occasion every month, resulting in a higher appearance rate of a returning Pokémon.

The schedule for August 2024 has been revealed and we’re here to explain it.

On August 31st, 2024, during the community day event for Pokémon Go, Popplio will be the star Pokémon! From 2 PM to 5 PM (local time), you’ll find plenty of Popplio appearing in the wild.

Gather plenty of Pokéballs, and you’ll have an impressive count of Popplios in no time! To evolve Popplio into Brionne and then Primarina, you’ll need to collect a large number of Popplio candies first.

During the event, develop your Popplio into a Primarina, and for up to five hours after the event concludes, this evolved Primarina will acquire the special move known as Hydro Cannon, which is the highlighted attack for that community day.

The upcoming event will additionally teach Primarina the new move, Sparkling Aria, which she’ll have the ability to master permanently, starting on August 31.

Apart from having more Popplio appearances during the Community Day, you’ll also encounter event perks such as Popplio-themed decals, Community Day Boxes for purchase, highlighted PokéStops, special Field Research tasks, and an exclusive paid Community Day research story.

During the August 2024 Pokémon Go Community Day, as stated on their official website, you can expect these event bonuses to be active:
