Over the past weekend, Pokémon Go enthusiasts enjoyed a Community Day Classic featuring Totodile. Following this event, Niantic has announced details for the upcoming Community Day, scheduled towards the end of April. The star of this occasion will be Vanillite, an Ice-type introduced in Pokémon Black and White. The event is set to take place on Saturday, 27th April, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., local time. In keeping with tradition, players can expect a higher probability of encountering a Shiny Pokémon during this window.
The Pokemon named Vanillite looks like a fresh snow cone shaped as vanilla ice cream. Typically, this means a white body with blue details. But in its Shiny form, the blue parts are replaced by a vibrant purple hue – this includes the cone, diamonds, and eyes. This color scheme carries over to its evolved forms, Vanillish and Vanilluxe. Although the changes aren’t drastic, they give it an appealing look that Pokemon Go players should aim to catch during the event, as there is a higher chance of finding them.
During the event or up until May 4th, players of Pokemon Go can evolve Vanillish to receive a unique version of Vanilluxe, which comes with a special Featured Attack called Avalanche. This Ice-typed Charged Attack has a strength of 90 in Trainer Battles and 85 in Gyms and Raids. This should prove quite beneficial when facing Dragon and Grass-type Pokemon!
During April’s Community Day event in Pokemon Go, several standard bonuses will be featured:
1. Players will earn triple the XP for every catch, along with double Candy.
2. Trainers over level 31 will have a higher chance of obtaining Candy XL, which is doubled.
3. Lure Modules and Incense activated during the event will last three times longer (3 hours).
4. From 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. local time, trades will require half the usual Stardust, and trainers can make an additional Special Trade.
5. Login during Community Day, and you’ll receive special Timed Research that lasts a week. This offers more opportunities to encounter Vanillite and its Shiny variant. Completing this research rewards players with a Vanillite featuring a Might & Mastery seasonal background.
For the month of March, there were two Pokemon Go Community Day events held. However, only Vanillite Community Day is scheduled for next month, April. Niantic has published an event calendar before the start of the ongoing season, and this is the sole Community Day for April. On the other hand, May will host another two Community Day events to conclude the season. Apart from that, April also offers a Mega Raid Day, which marks Mega Audino’s in-game debut.
