In the game Pokemon Go, certain resources are more abundant than others. Basic Poke Balls, for instance, are so plentiful that many players discard them to free up space in their inventory. However, Stardust is a valuable resource for those aiming to strengthen their teams as it’s required for powering up Pokemon or trading. With the need for large quantities of Stardust, it can quickly be depleted. On the other hand, some players benefiting from a glitch in the Go Battle League reward system receive extra Stardust with minimal additional effort.
One common joke about Niantic is that they promptly resolve issues that are advantageous to players but seem to be hesitant when it comes to matters not directly affecting them. However, this doesn’t appear to hold true for a specific exploit concerning the Go Battle League. Occasionally, players discover a hidden glitch, which results in an abundance of extra rewards. It appears that the timed research associated with a new Go Battle League season may occasionally count one victory in the game as multiple wins.

More recently, the player @jackyu17 who plays Pokemon Go shared an interesting discovery on Reddit. Despite having just 49 victories in their Go Battle League statistics, the Timed Research seems to have calculated differently. It ended up awarding them approximately 30 additional wins, which resulted in around 7,000 bonus Stardust as rewards.
The Pokemon Go Battle League Wins Glitch, Explained
To this Reddit user, it seems that the issue with the Go Battle League, which appears to be a persistent bug in Pokemon Go, has been reported by players before. In fact, some players have mentioned experiencing these random bonus wins in past Go Battle League seasons too. During the Max Out season alone, one player shared they had encountered this glitch “several seasons ago.

Although the exact duration of this issue isn’t known, it appears to have persisted for a longer time compared to most advantageous bugs encountered throughout the game’s history. A player succinctly described it as potentially “the most rewarding glitch in the game,” with its random prize winnings and Stardust being particularly appealing.
It seems that, despite many attempts, no one has found a consistent method to capitalize on this bug during Go Battle League matches. Players notice it occurs seemingly at random while engaging in gameplay. However, participating in Player vs Player (PvP) battles is mandatory to obtain the free Stardust glitch, but it doesn’t guarantee that it will occur. Fans believe the bug might be linked to an opponent disconnecting from the game at a specific moment during combat, but this theory remains speculative and unproven as it’s hard to intentionally trigger and has not been fully verified.
The sudden increase in wins for player @jamppa50, jumping from 10 to 100, seems quite unpredictable, especially compared to the 30 extra wins recently given out. However, receiving an unexpectedly large amount of Stardust as a reward for climbing the Go Battle League ranks is a pleasant surprise, if you’re fortunate enough to receive it.
