As a dedicated gamer with years of experience under my belt, I can’t help but get excited about the latest news from the Pokemon Go community. The announcement of Popplio Community Day on August 31st is music to my ears! I’ve been eagerly awaiting this event since the last one featuring Litten in March.
For the past several months, Pokemon Go has held Community Day events for two of the Alolan starter Pokemons: Rowlet in January and Litten in March. Excited fans have been looking forward to a similar event for the Water-type starter from Sun and Moon, Popplio, and their wait is almost over. Officially announced by Pokemon Go, Popplio Community Day will take place on August 31st from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. local time. During this period, the appearance of Popplio in the wild will increase significantly, and players will have a greater chance of encountering a Shiny one.
What Does Shiny Popplio Look Like?
As a gamer, I’ve come across some fascinating variations of Pokémon, like Litten versus the Shiny Popplio. While Litten sticks to its usual orange-yellow self, Shiny Popplio boasts a subtly different appearance. The blue hue on its body is just a tad darker than typical. Moreover, instead of the standard light blue ruff around its neck, it dons a soft, rosy pink one.
Popplio Community Day Bonuses
On Popplio Community Day, trainers who evolve their Brionne Pokemon will obtain a Primarina with the special move Hydro Cannon. This Charged Attack has a strength of 80 points in trainer battles and 90 points in gyms and raids. Beginning that day, Niantic is granting Primarina the ability to learn a new Charged Attack called Sparkling Aria. All Primarina can acquire this move, which will have a power of 80 points in trainer battles and 85 points in gyms and raids, making it almost as potent as Hydro Cannon.
During Popplio Community Day, not only can players enjoy the special Featured Attack, but they’ll also receive some exciting bonuses. For instance, Candy earned from catching Popplio will be doubled, and XP gained will be tripled. For trainers above level 31, there’s an added perk of obtaining double XL Candy. Lure Modules and Incense will last for a longer duration of three hours each. Additionally, players can expect Popplio-themed stickers, PokeStop showcases, and other fun elements.
