Pokémon Go Spotlight Hour: August 2024 dates, times and featured critters revealed

As a lifelong Pokémon enthusiast who grew up with the original Gameboy games and spent countless hours catching ’em all, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgic excitement when I see the latest lineup for Pokémon Go Spotlight Hours! From the classic Drilbur to the more modern Magnemite, it’s clear that Niantic is keeping things fresh while still paying homage to the franchise’s roots.

For August 2024, there’s another round of Pokémon Go Spotlight Hours! Here are the details on the dates, times, and starring Pokémon creatures!

Instead of having five Pokémon in focus last month, we’ll be highlighting only four this month due to the way the dates align.

Being a child of the ’90s, I remember the excitement of collecting Pokémon cards and playing the original video games with all my heart. So, when I heard that two first-generation Pokémon are available this month, it brought back a flood of memories. However, as someone who has been following Pokémon for over two decades, I can’t help but think that the other two, from the third and fifth generations, could also be considered vintage at this point given how long the franchise has been going on.

Regardless of how long you’ve been a fan, you’ll undoubtedly find yourself drawn to the newest Pokémon Crocs. These unique footwear options might leave your friends awestruck (or bewildered), but they won’t be able to ignore the functionality of the Le Creuset Pokémon collection or the cuteness of the new Pokémon Soda Pop plush toys, which are equally irresistible.

But we’re here for the Pokémon Go Spotlight hour. Read on and all shall be revealed”
