During the Community Day events in August for Pokemon Go, one special Pokemon chosen by Niantic will take center stage. Occasionally, the developers mix things up, and this is exactly what they’re planning to do for August. In fact, they’ve announced that players can vote over the weekend to determine which Pokemon will have its own Community Day event. Unfortunately, due to limitations, not every Pokemon can be a candidate. Niantic has narrowed down the choices to four: Frillish, Lechonk, Rookidee, and Wimpod.
The voting process for this event is going to take place on the official YouTube channel of Pokemon Go. The polling will commence on Saturday, June 7th at 6 p.m. Pacific Time and continue until Sunday, June 8th, also at the same time. Niantic has mentioned that each participant gets only one vote, but they haven’t clarified yet how they plan to manage this. However, the votes will be counted after the closing of the poll, and once a candidate is chosen, Niantic will provide further details about the selection process.
The voting results will be intriguing to watch. It’s notable that all four of these Pokemon share a unique characteristic, which is their eye-catching Shiny variations. Lechonk’s Shiny form adopts a typical pig color scheme by replacing its black body with pink. This change also applies to its evolved form, Oinkologne. Rookidee’s blue and yellow design transforms into white and yellow, while its evolved forms Corvisquire and Corviknight show off a silvery appearance due to their Steel-type. Wimpod’s purple coloration is replaced by bold red, but it doesn’t appear as striking when it evolves into Golisopod. Lastly, the male and female versions of Frillish exhibit more teal and hot pink hues, respectively.
It’s uncertain which Pokemon will emerge victorious from the vote, but Lechonk appears to have a strong chance due to its popularity since its debut in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Given its widespread fanbase, it may attract a substantial number of votes, potentially leading to a Community Day event sooner rather than later. On the other hand, Rookidee might also secure the win; as it was recently introduced in Pokemon Go, some players might still be working towards acquiring any Corviknight, let alone a Shiny one.
Given the brief timeframe for voting, we’ll likely learn the details of August’s Pokemon Go Community Day event shortly. Fingers crossed that Niantic won’t take too much time in counting votes, and will share the exciting updates for the rest of the summer ahead promptly.
