In its first hundred episodes, “Pokemon Horizons” has effectively centered around the successors of Ash Ketchum, Liko and Roy. As they journey through their world, they’re evolving into stronger Pokémon trainers. If you haven’t been following the recent anime series that follows these two main characters, don’t fret because the franchise is skilled at bringing fans up to speed on the story involving the Rising Volt Tacklers and the Explorers.
In Japan, fresh installments of “Pokemon Horizons” are being broadcast weekly, but North American enthusiasts need to exercise patience before joining Roy and Liko on their newest journeys. Fortunately, the show is now available on Netflix, with additional episodes slated for release on the streaming platform towards the end of 2025. Notably, our duo of trainers have found themselves in Galar, a location that will be familiar to many Pokemon enthusiasts as it was first introduced in the Nintendo game, “Pokemon Sword and Shield.” With recent developments affecting the Rising Volt Tacklers, it seems that Liko and Roy could spearhead the creation of a new organization. To commemorate reaching one hundred episodes, the series unveiled a trailer showcasing highlights from their adventures so far, which you can view below.

When Will The Horizons Return To The West?
Great news for Pokemon enthusiasts! The eagerly awaited second season of Pokemon Horizons, titled “Pokemon Horizons: Season 2 – The Search For Laqua”, is set to debut on Netflix in North America on June 27th. So, anime lovers have just a week left to catch up on the series before diving into the new episodes. However, it’s important to note that the Western release is still catching up with the Japanese one. The upcoming batch includes episodes thirty-four through forty-four, indicating that there are many more episodes needed to bring Liko and Roy fans fully up to speed.
Where is Ash Ketchum?
Previously, Ash, our anime hero, accomplished his goal of becoming the world champion. However, he understood there was much more to attain before truly earning the title “Pokemon Master.” Fortunately for him, Ketchum claimed the crown at a young age, leaving ample room for exploration in his life. In the series Pokemon Horizons, viewers are left wondering whether Liko and Roy will cross paths with their predecessor Ash, or if they’ll ever learn of his current adventures following his grand victory. Here’s hoping we get to see Ketchum again soon and discover what he’s been up to since then!
