For the first time, The Pokemon Company unveiled gameplay footage of Pokemon Legends: Z-A, providing details about Lumiose City and the narrative setup. They’ve also announced a release date towards the end of 2025, but no word yet on whether it will be available on the Nintendo Switch 2. Take a look at the trailer below.
In Lumiose City, newcomers select among three starting Pokemon: Chikorita, Totodile, and Tepig. They lodge in a hotel overseen by AZ and Floette, while engaging with Quasartico during the city’s revitalization process. A fresh ally, either Urbaine or Taunie, joins the scene for some interaction as well.
Adventurers can traverse the cityscape, using transportation devices to reach the rooftops. These uncharted territories host wild Pokemon that gamers can catch and engage in combat with. Similar to Pokemon Legends: Arceus, battles occur in real-time, and for the first time in this franchise, positioning and timing are crucial as abilities have a range and area of impact due to their effects.
As a dedicated gamer, I can let you know that in this upcoming adventure, I’ll be able to guide my Pokémon around to help them dodge attacks. Plus, the exhilarating Mega Evolution is back! The trailer concludes with an enticing sneak peek at a Promotion Match against Prism Tower. Keep your eyes peeled for further details and updates!
