The upcoming title in the Pokemon Legends series, titled “Pokemon Legends: Z-A,” was recently unveiled to enthusiastic fans on Pokemon Day 2025. The trailer showcased gameplay, the captivating world of Lumiose City, and other exciting features. Among the numerous Pokemon displayed in the trailer, the starter Pokemon for “Pokemon Legends: Z-A” garnered particular attention from fans. Ever since the game’s announcement, there has been great anticipation surrounding these starters, and now, finally, fans have a glimpse of their potential choices. Fortunately, the new trailer provided a sneak peek at the starter Pokemon for “Pokemon Legends: Z-A,” satisfying the curiosity that has built up over time.

As a dedicated gamer, I can’t help but feel the thrill as the starters for the latest installment, “Pokémon Legends: Z-A,” have been unveiled! It’s me, your friendly neighborhood trainer, who’ll be starting with Totodile, Chickorita, and Tepig. Totodile is a mighty Water-type Pokémon, Chickorita is a resilient Grass-Type Pokémon, and Tepig is a fiery Fire-type Pokémon. Interestingly, two of these starters hail from the Generation 2 games, “Pokémon Gold” and “Pokémon Silver,” while the third one comes from Generation 5, specifically “Pokémon Black” and “Pokémon White.” This suggests that as we delve deeper into this new adventure, we might encounter more Pokémon from these beloved games!

We’re well aware of the initial forms of these Pokemon, but their regional variations remain a mystery. The latest installment, Pokemon Legends: Arceus, introduced new classifications and appearances for the final evolution stages of Rowlett, Oshawott, and Cyndiquil. Fans will probably need to either wait until its release in late 2025 or for the next trailer to come out to discover the final evolutions of the Pokemon starters from Pokemon Legends: Z-A.

2025’s Pokémon Day was jam-packed with thrilling revelations, and the standout moment for me, as a fellow gamer, was the unveiling of the new Pokémon game, Pokemon Champions. Even our mobile experiences got a taste of something fresh, like hints at new content such as the Triumphant Light Booster Pack for my favorite, Pokemon TCG Pocket. With all these ways to engage with Pokémon, us fans are in for a treat until the release of Pokemon Legends: Z-A.

During the Pokemon Presents event, a specific launch date for Pokemon Legends Z-A wasn’t announced, but Nintendo and The Pokemon Company did confirm that the game will be released on the Nintendo Switch at some point in late 2025. No details were provided about whether or not it would also be available for the potential Nintendo Switch 2.
