Pokemon Legends: Z-A ‘Z-A Royal’ trailer, details, and screenshots

In a recent update, both the publisher, The Pokemon Company, and developer, Game Freak, unveiled fresh gameplay footage, details, and images for the upcoming game titled Pokemon Legends: Z-A. This reveal spotlights an intense tournament known as the Z-A Royale competition.

Here are the details:

At sunset in Lumiose City, an advanced holographic technology creates a battle arena marked by red boundaries. This area is where trainers engage in fierce battles during the Z-A Royale competition, from twilight till dawn. The goal is to start at Rank Z and climb your way up to Rank A; only the most powerful contenders will reach the top rank. Those who achieve Rank A might even have one wish granted within the game. Throughout the competition, trainers encounter other participants and allies, including characters like Urbain or Taunie, who challenge their skills.

During the daylight hours, trainers are free to traverse wild areas where they can capture and train Pokémon, honing their skills ahead of the evening conflicts. As the battlefield springs to life, it’s essential to master timing and tactics; an element of surprise could mean victory, while knowing when to retreat from stronger opponents might be crucial. To conquer the Z-A Royale tournament in Lumiose City, trainers must effectively utilize both day and night, ensuring their teams are ready for any obstacles that may arise.

Pokemon Legends: Z-A is due out for Switch in late 2025.
