As a seasoned gamer with memories of catching my first Pokémon etched deep within my gaming history, witnessing the phenomenal success of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet fills me with a sense of nostalgic joy tinged with awe. Growing up with Red and Blue, I never imagined that the series would reach such heights, yet here we are, with Scarlet and Violet outshining even their predecessors in record time.
By the end of June 30th, the popular Nintendo game Pokemon Scarlet and Violet has sold a total of 25.29 million copies, making it the quickest title within its series to achieve this sales figure and ranking as the third fastest overall in reaching such a milestone.
According to Serebii, who runs the widely recognized Pokemon website, Pokemon Sword and Shield managed to achieve a significant sales milestone in slightly less than three years. In the span of approximately 16 to 17 months following its release, it had sold an impressive 21.85 million units.
Speaking of total sales over the years, “Pokemon Red, Green, and Blue” continue to lead the pack with 31.38 million units sold. “Pokemon Sword and Shield” follows closely behind, selling approximately 26.35 million units so far. Lastly, “Pokemon Scarlet and Violet” holds a respectable third place in this popular series. Despite facing criticism at launch for its technical issues, it’s clear that these games have captured the hearts of many Pokémon fans.
In 2025, the upcoming title in the Pokémon series is titled “Pokemon Legends: Z-A.” This game will be exclusively set within Lumiose City, which is part of the Kalos region featured in Pokémon X and Y. Since Nintendo has hinted at a release for their “Switch systems,” it’s possible that this game may debut simultaneously with the next-generation console.
