The recently launched game, “Pokemon Scarlet & Violet – Destined Rivals,” has been in high demand, but it’s been tough finding the physical versions. However, a promotional card from the set could be more accessible due to a giveaway happening on the Pokemon Center website. The card up for grabs is Team Rocket’s Tyranitar, which bears the Pokemon Center logo at the bottom left corner of its artwork. Luckily, the requirements to participate in this giveaway are reasonable for those aiming to add this promo card to their personal collections.
To receive the Team Rocket’s Tyranitar promo card, you need to spend at least $15 on the Pokemon Center website, focusing on the “Team Rocket Tyranitar Gift With Purchase” section. This area offers a variety of products related to the Pokemon Trading Card Game (TCG) or Team Rocket. You’ll find items like playmats, card sleeves, and deck boxes, but only a few actual cards. For clothing enthusiasts, there are several options themed around Team Rocket, such as hats, jackets, and pullovers. Lastly, there are some additional items available, including a Charizard backpack, plushes, and pixel pins.
The Team Rocket faction has been heavily utilized to advertise the “Destined Rivals” collection. This set follows the “Trainer’s Pokemon” motif introduced in “Journey Together,” featuring numerous cards connected to specific trainers such as Misty’s Psyduck and Ethan’s Ho-oh. Nevertheless, it’s the Team Rocket cards that are generating a lot of buzz. Prior to the set’s English launch, a Team Rocket Mewtwo card was already selling for over $400 on the secondary market. It will be intriguing to monitor the market’s response now that these cards have been made publicly available.
As a dedicated Pokémon TCG collector, I can’t predict the excitement around this promo card among fellow enthusiasts, but if you’re keen on getting one, don’t hesitate! Previous promos have vanished fast, and they often fetch high prices on auction sites like eBay. The promotion is set to end on June 30th at 11:59 p.m. PT, or when stocks run out. It’s interesting to note that the promotion has been active for a few days now without running out of cards, which could be a positive sign. However, as a fellow Pokémon fan, I wouldn’t advise waiting too long if you’re serious about adding this card to your collection.
Since the local launch of “Destined Rivals”, the upcoming significant releases for the Pokémon Trading Card Game are “Black Bolt” and “White Flare”. On July 18th, The Pokémon Company plans to unveil the “split expansion” in English. Unlike “Destined Rivals”, this set is considered special, akin to “Prismatic Evolutions”. Consequently, individual booster packs will not be sold separately in stores and can only be acquired alongside other Pokémon TCG products.
