Many of the animations and pop-up notifications can’t be skipped, causing players to endure them. Moreover, while the animations for opening card packs are entertaining, they consume quite a bit of time, especially when dealing with Promo Packs.

Similar to the actual Pokemon Trading Card Game, the mobile app features exclusive Promo Cards beyond those obtained from standard booster packs. Avid collectors aiming to acquire them all should keep an eye out for each new Promo Card release, as they are only available temporarily and not part of regular trading. Some Promo Cards are handed out during Wonder Pick events, while others serve as rewards for solo battle events such as the recent Cresselia EX event. Despite the desire to amass every available promo, these events can present a couple of time-consuming challenges.

Initially, it’s important to note that receiving Promo Packs isn’t a certainty in this game. After each battle, players may receive one Promo Pack as a potential reward, but only after the first round. However, these packs are not guaranteed, so even if players manage to defeat the specified Cresselia deck, they might end up with no Promo Packs at all for their efforts.

To make matters worse, the card inside each pack is selected at random. This means that players could engage in numerous battles aiming to obtain a specific card, only to find themselves with duplicates of cards they already possess. The repetition and lack of predictability can be frustrating.

But the real time-consuming aspect comes when you open these Promo Packs. You see, the method for opening them is not straightforward.

Every time gamers finish a solitary fight in a Pokemon TCG Pocket event, they receive an individual Promo Pack. Unlike the Wonder Pick, this card doesn’t instantly appear in their collection; instead, they must navigate to their in-game rewards menu to obtain the Promo Pack. Although this may not seem significant when there’s only one Promo Pack involved, many players aim to gather multiple simultaneously so they can amass every card within the event. This has left gamers questioning whether issues like sluggish animations and other time-consuming annoyances, such as this one, will eventually be tackled by the developers.
