Pokémon TCG Pocket will launch Wednesday 30th October 2024.

Earlier, The Pokémon Company had announced that the game release was scheduled for some time within 2024. It’s reassuring to note that they seem to be on track and haven’t yet slipped past their deadline.

Without any more Pokémon video games being revealed yet, there’s a whole year gaping between Pokémon TCG Pocket and Pokémon Legends: Arceus (ZA). But if additional releases don’t surface alongside the rumored next-gen Switch 2, then we might not have any new titles to look forward to until then.

Pokémon TCG Pocket will launch exclusively for mobile, specifically on iOS and Android devices.

The Pokémon Company, along with Creatures Inc, who are responsible for creating the Pokémon Trading Card Game, and DeNA, known for developing Pokémon Masters EX, are collaborating on the development of this project.

So far, there’s been no announcement about the game being released on any additional platforms. But, given its success, it might make an appearance on the Nintendo Switch at some point in the future.

As a passionate moviegoer, I’m thrilled to share that you can now pre-register for the Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket, which is set to hit mobile screens soon! The best part? It starts off as a free experience for all of us to enjoy.

You can check out the Apple App Store and Google Play Store pages for more details.

Players can enjoy opening two free game packs daily just by logging in. However, additional packs might require real-world currency for accessing extra cards.

Pokémon TCG Pocket gameplay details

The Pokemon TCG Pocket gameplay appears designed to replicate the thrill of unwrapping booster packs, much like the authentic experience which contributed significantly to Pokemon’s popularity.

These cards can be reorganized in various ways, such as making some of them shimmer or providing a more interactive, immersive experience by improving the background.

To date, characters such as Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Snorlax, Charizard, Vaporeon, Moltres, Haunter, and Meowth, among others, have been officially announced to make an appearance.

As a movie buff, I’d put it this way: “Simplified Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) rules make it easy for players to engage in swift battles with their cards at any given moment. We call these speedy duels ‘Quick Battles’ – perfect for those times when you just need a quick fix of TCG action!”

The official blurb from The Pokémon Company can be seen below:

The cherished Pokemon Trading Card Game (TCG) series keeps advancing as it introduces the Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket, a novel app that reinventedly delivers the thrill of amassing Pokemon TCG cards in a fresh and engaging digital fashion.

As a passionate fan of the Pokémon universe, I can’t wait to dive into the Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket! This digital version offers an exciting twist to the classic trading card game. Instead of physically opening booster packs, I’ll get to enjoy the thrill of discovery in a digital format. What makes it even more intriguing is that each card in this adaptation features unique visual effects, adding a fresh layer of excitement to my collection!

The “Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket” presents “interactive cards” that transport players directly into the artwork’s world, offering an entirely fresh method for engaging with the Pokémon Trading Card Game.

Each day, players are given free access to open two special packs that contain both classic and modern cards, exclusively available within the app.

Moreover, combat encounters will offer a simplified version of the original Pokemon Trading Card Game battle format, allowing players to participate swiftly.
