Pokemon TCG Pocket Reveals New Promo Cards

As a seasoned gamer with decades of Pokemon trading card game (TCG) experience under my belt, I must say, the latest updates to Pokemon TCG Pocket have me absolutely thrilled! The new Mythical Island themed booster packs and the upcoming promo cards featuring Charmander, Squirtle, and Blastoise are a testament to the enduring charm of this game.

Yesterday, the compact version of the Pokémon Trading Card Game received a fresh batch of cards with the launch of the Mythical Island-themed booster pack. Yet, The Pokemon Company has already hinted at more cards coming our way soon. Among these new additions are promotional cards, such as designs for Charmander, Squirtle, and Blastoise. Interestingly, Charmander and Squirtle will be made available through Wonder Pick events, much like the current Bulbasaur and Magnemite cards, both featuring the same pink Chansey image. In contrast, Blastoise will be distributed in a promotional pack, reminiscent of how Lapras was released earlier.

Apart from their design, the Charmander and Squirtle promo cards are quite similar to those available in Genetic Apex. In other words, if you don’t get them, it’s not a major setback! However, the Blastoise card stands out with Pokemon depicted inside a basement full of tools, which is an unusual setting for a Water-type character. This uniqueness might attract players. As of now, we’re unsure about the release date of these new cards. Images have been shared on the game’s Japanese X/Twitter account, but not the North American one as yet. We hope to hear more details soon, as there appears to be a lot of interest among players in getting their hands on these cards!

Ever since its debut in late October, Pokemon TCG Pocket has given players plenty of incentives to return daily. Ranging from unwrapping card packs, to earning Wonder Picks, to participating in events that bestow in-game badges. It appears The Pokemon Company has hit a jackpot with the game; as reported by Sensor Tower (via Circana’s Mat Piscatella), Pokemon TCG Pocket ranked second among U.S. mobile games in terms of monthly revenue for November. It’ll be exciting to observe if the game can sustain this momentum, but the constant flow of events and fresh cards definitely aids in that endeavor.

Hey there fellow gamers! I’ve got to say, I’m as excited as you are about the upcoming Pokemon TCG Pocket in 2025. Unfortunately, the developers haven’t given us much insight into what we can expect. Typically, they don’t reveal too much ahead of time, leaving fans on their toes for a new event or release.
