It looks like more Pokemon Trading Cards will be included in McDonald’s Happy Meals within the next few months, as reported by PokeBeach. They mention that McDonald’s locations in France are set to start a new Pokemon Trading Card Game promotion in December. Historically, France releases its Pokemon Trading Card Game promotions 1-2 months after the United States, which suggests that US McDonald’s might receive their cards by either October or November. This is slightly later than usual Pokemon card promotions, which typically occur in August, but this delay could be due to the current release of Pokemon Horizons toys in Japan this month.
McDonald’s has been collaborating annually with the Pokemon Trading Card Game since 2011. These collaborations include reprinted cards that have distinct numbering and a special confetti holofoil pattern. Although these cards aren’t meant to be collector’s items, their value has increased due to the surge in popularity of the Pokemon Trading Card Game during the pandemic. However, most cards from the 2023 set are currently being sold for approximately $1 each.
