Poker Face Season 2: First Look & HUGE Star-Studded Cast

Following over two years, Peacock has unveiled some updates about Season 2 of “Poker Face.” The streaming platform has revealed four sneak peeks from the upcoming season, hinting at its imminent arrival with the phrase “coming soon.” As reported by Variety, it’s expected to debut in the spring, though an exact launch date remains undisclosed. The teaser images feature Natasha Lyonne reprising her role as Charlie Cale, alongside new cast members John Mulaney and Cynthia Erivo. This season is set to bring a host of other star-studded appearances. Series creator Rian Johnson and Lyonne jointly released a statement to accompany these initial images.

Charlie Cale is once again on the move, and in Season 2, we’ve escalated her story through a series of intriguing murder mysteries,” they noted. “From the world of minor league baseball to large retail stores, from funeral homes to alligator farms and even a school talent show, Charlie embarks on her crime-solving odyssey with dry humor, compassion for others, and her unique knack for spotting lies.

In contrast to many streaming series that are shortening their seasons, Season 2 of “Poker Face” will offer 12 episodes, an increase from the initial ten. The show features Lyonne in the role of a mixologist possessing a unique talent for detecting lies. She assists in murder investigations using a week-by-week case format. Typically, viewers are aware of the solution before the characters themselves.

In a delightful turn of events, the first season was both praised by critics and enjoyed by audiences, making it no wonder that many popular actors want to join in for Season 2. According to reports, the star-studded cast includes Alia Shawkat, Awkwafina, Ben Marshall, B.J. Novak, Carol Kane, Cliff “Method Man” Smith, Corey Hawkins, David Krumholtz, Davionte “GaTa” Ganter, Ego Nwodim, Gaby Hoffmann, Giancarlo Esposito, Haley Joel Osment, Jason Ritter, John Cho, Justin Theroux, Kathrine Narducci, Katie Holmes, Kevin Corrigan, Kumail Nanjiani, Margo Martindale, Menalie Lynskey, Patti Harrison, Sam Richardson, Sherry Cola, and Simon Rex. It’s said that more stars are yet to be revealed in future announcements.

In 2023, following its debut, Poker Face Season 1 earned four Emmy nominations. Notably, Judith Light clinched the award for exceptional guest actress in a comedy series due to her Episode 5 portrayal titled “Time of the Monkey.” Additionally, Lyonne was recognized in the leading actress category, while the remaining two nominations were bestowed upon production design and stunt coordination. Boasting a remarkable 98% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, there’s no doubt that expectations for Season 2 are running high among both critics and fans alike.
