As someone who has spent countless hours engrossed in documentaries about primatology and conservation, this latest escapade of the monkeys from Alpha Genesis Incorporated in Yemassee, South Carolina, has me both intrigued and alarmed. The idea of having these intelligent, complex creatures roaming free in my neighborhood, albeit unintentionally, brings a sense of excitement that is tempered by the potential dangers they may pose.
This is no time for monkeying around.
In other words, it appears that some monkeys have managed to escape, and this has been verified by local authorities in Yemassee, South Carolina, following an incident on November 6th at a research center where around 40 primates were housed.
Around the specified region, traps are in place,” a post on Facebook said. “Currently, the Yemassee Police Department is present, employing thermal cameras to pinpoint the whereabouts of the creatures.
As a lifestyle expert, I’d advise you to steer clear of these wild creatures and reach out to authorities immediately by dialing 911 instead. Furthermore, it’s crucial for your safety to ensure your home is securely locked, keeping doors and windows closed to prevent these animals from gaining entry.
According to authorities, it was verified that some animals had managed to break free from Alpha Genesis Incorporated, a global research facility specializing in providing top-tier nonhuman primate products and bioresearch services.
The department hasn’t verified the type of monkeys that are running wild, but Alpha Genesis’ website mentions they handle macaque and capuchin monkeys. It’s also unconfirmed if these escaped monkeys have contracted any diseases, and they have yet to respond to NBC News’ inquiry for comment.
As a dedicated enthusiast, I can’t help but share my excitement about Alpha Genesis. This pioneering organization, according to NBC News, conducts clinical trials involving monkeys, even delving into potential treatments for brain disorders like Alzheimer’s. What sets them apart is their possession of one of the nation’s largest and most comprehensive nonhuman primate facilities, meticulously designed with monkeys in mind.
In fact, last year, our company was awarded a deal to manage a community of about 3,500 monkeys on Morgan Island – an isolated island offshore from the state, famously known as “Monkey Island” because it has been home to research colonies of rhesus monkeys since 1979.
Earlier reports by The Post and Courier of Beaufort County, as confirmed by NBC News, indicate that the primates have managed to escape their island on previous occasions. This was observed in May of this year, and back in 2016, no less than 19 primates slipped past Alpha Genesis security before they were finally captured six hours later.
