Surprisingly enough, it’s now time for a fresh Like a Dragon journey! However, don’t expect this one to follow the usual pattern of Yakuza games. In fact, this installment might just be the most unusual twist on the series that you’ve encountered so far (excluding the PS3’s Yakuza: Dead Souls).
Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii – A Compact Adventure, similar to last year’s Gaiden spin-off, once again features the charismatic character Goro Majima. This time around, the infamous ‘Mad Dog’ returns to the limelight for the first time since Yakuza 0 (or Yakuza Kiwami 2 if you prefer the technical title), embarking on a new journey that finds him commanding his own pirate ship in the high seas.
In our review of “Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii” for the PS5, we rated it 7 out of 10. We called it an engaging spin-off, providing a delightful break from the main series games.
