Pop Team Epic Creator Rocks The Dragon With New Dragon Ball Daima Collab

As a seasoned gamer and pop culture enthusiast with decades of experience under my belt, I can confidently say that the latest collaboration between Bkub Okawa and LINE for a new sticker collection is nothing short of a dream come true! The illustration of Goku in his chibi-fied Dragon Ball DAIMA form is simply adorable, and it’s delightful to see such a diverse array of iconic characters represented alongside him.

One standout comedy series, known as “Pop Team Epic“, gained popularity due to its unexpectedly charming art style contrasting with its outrageous humor. Initially published by Bkub Okawa on the Life Win website under Takeshobo in 2014, this series has since become a must-watch for anime and manga enthusiasts. With jokes that reference various pop culture icons like “Your Name” and “Ghostbusters“, “Pop Team Epic” is essentially a heartfelt tribute to popular culture as we know it.

Although no fresh content is being added, creator Bkub has revealed they’re teaming up with LINE for a unique sticker pack release. Highlights include an irresistibly cute depiction of Goku in his chibi Dragon Ball DAIMA style. Apart from this, the collection also showcases characters like Ash and Skye (Gym Leader) from Pokemon, Angewoman from Digimon, Mitsuri from Demon Slayer, as well as Tifa and Aerith from Final Fantasy 7. Bkub has shared a sneak peek of Goku on their (formerly Twitter) account to generate excitement for the new sticker pack.

The Creator of Pop Team Epic Has Built Their Legacy On Their Love For Pop Culture

As a devoted fan, I must confess that while the anime version of “Pop Team Epic” certainly grabbed the spotlight with its innovative approach of alternating “A” and “B” episodes to keep humor fresh, the original web manga is equally brilliant in its delivery. For die-hard geeks and pop culture enthusiasts, it’s a witty, satirical ode to all things nerdy.

The anime consisted of just 14 episodes, with the first ten episodes airing as part of the original television series, followed by a special episode in 2019 that included episodes 13 and 14. The anime maintained its comical origins from the manga, while also lampooning popular anime and manga titles and demonstrating various animation styles and techniques. Each episode lasted 30 minutes, although each half of an episode was almost identical, except for a change in voice actors – one set featured adorable female voices, while the other showcased robust male voices. The humor remained distinct due to slight variations in punchlines and joke setup in each half, even though the storyline was essentially repeated, as viewers watched the same narrative twice.
