Initially designed as a model of tomorrow, Sanzu City was conceived as an autonomous paradise. It offered residents a chance to work, reside, and nurture their children, all with the ultimate goal of creating a more ideal world, under the employment umbrella of global corporation Agradyne.

Three years ago, something inexplicably slipped out from Agradyne’s most secretive labs. In its wake, an onslaught of nightmares ensued – demons intent on inhabiting human bodies. Some of these entities spiraled out of control and morphed into monstrous, twisted forms.

Agradyne abandoned Sanzu, sealing its survivors in a hellish maze of abandoned skyscrapers.

The Monsters We Make

In the remnants of Sanzu, Luca stirs awake. Prior to the catastrophe, she was a solitary adolescent dwelling in this industrial settlement. Attending a high school managed by a tech firm felt ordinary to her. Now, the mere will to survive is sustained by Rhem, a potent, resentful demon who broke free from Agradyne’s grasp. To preserve their own lives, Rhem took over Luca. However, Rhem yearns solely for homecoming, and as such, Luca has pledged assistance in this endeavor.

In my gaming adventure as Luca and Rhem, we’ve been on a quest for truth, and it’s shown us the weight of control and its loss. We’ve seen some chilling partnerships between humans and demons, mirroring how people can tie, manipulate, and shatter each other.

They journey attached side by side, a trip that compels Luca to uncover the chilling secrets concealed beneath her city’s pleasant corporate facade.

Gameplay Features and Systems

Luca has an assortment of makeshift melee tools for fighting, enabling her to adapt different fighting techniques. Her initial weapons might be ordinary kitchen knives, but she can also pulverize demons using a computer mouse, hockey stick…or even a guitar!

As I, the gamer, wield Luca’s reliable blades in my digital hands, their edge is as swift as lightning and keen as a whirlwind. This lets me dart in close, hack through the demons with precision, then nimbly retreat before they can retaliate, keeping myself safe from danger.

If she persists with her forceful attacks, she can unbalance them, making them more susceptible. Continuous hits sent from different angles will keep opponents suspended mid-air… and extend their struggle for breath.

If a demon manages to escape Luca’s hold, she has the ability to summon Rhem’s power to flog opponents and pull them towards herself.

Enemies and Combat Encounters

Demons can take control of all sorts of things – people, plants, vending machines, or even a high-tech printer scanner like the Agradyne Series LC65 Multi-Function Printer Scanner! So, Luca needs to be cautious because his adversaries could be anywhere, even disguised as ordinary objects. To get Rhem back home, she’ll need to confront the strongest demons in each district of Sanzu.

This version maintains the original meaning while using more common, everyday language and simplifying some technical terms.
