In simpler terms, the game development studio FuturLab has unveiled PowerWash Simulator 2, which is the follow-up to their popular and enjoyable cleaning game.
Set to launch on PlayStation 5 around 2025, this upcoming title was hinted at through the aforementioned teaser trailer, featuring the series’ cute gnome mascots revealing its name and offering a sneak peek into its gameplay.
Instead of being published by another company, as was the case with the initial PowerWash Simulator, the sequel, PowerWash Simulator 2, will be self-published by FuturLab. This is made possible due to the impressive success of the first game, which has amassed an astounding 17 million players.
According to design director Dan Chequer, PowerWash Simulator 2 aims to provide additional paths for players to experience the same fulfillment by incorporating new tools, attributes, and enhancements for a smoother gameplay experience.
As a devoted admirer, I’m thrilled to share that the upcoming installment offers a fresh, self-contained storyline set within the classic backdrop of Muckingham, along with exciting new territories like Sponge Valley, Power Falls, and Lubri City!
Additionally, it provides a personalized headquarters for your adventure, a place where you can tailor the decorations using various items amassed during gameplay.
Although the basic cleaning process appears similar thus far, the upcoming installment introduces an innovative soap system. This new soap adheres tenaciously to persistent stains and eliminates dirt effectively. Here’s hoping it lives up to its promise.
In the sequel of PowerWash Simulator, you’ll find that cooperative play over the internet remains, and a new addition – split-screen mode. This allows two offline players to participate in the cleaning fun simultaneously.
At this point, we inquired about the possibility of cross-platform collaboration in the upcoming sequel, but the team has not made a firm commitment yet. They mention they currently lack information regarding crossplay. Here’s to hoping for further details in the future!
According to FuturLab, we can expect additional details in April. They also plan to release their project towards the end of 2025.
