FuturLab, the creators of PowerWash Simulator, have shared that they won’t be moving forward with plans to enhance the VR version of the game. The CEO, Kirsty Rigden, expressed that the team is fond of and committed to virtual reality, but due to some unoccupied key positions within the team, ensuring job stability for the studio remains their top priority.
According to Eurogamer’s report, FuturLab has shared an announcement, and it’s been clarified that this doesn’t necessarily mean they’re dismissing VR support in the future. However, due to the higher costs of maintaining the VR team compared to its returns, merging the two teams seemed like a logical choice. Rigden explained their decision by saying, “I understand your disappointment, but if you were in my position, you would have made the same call.
Initially, some enthusiasts had been anticipating the launch of PowerWash Simulator VR on PSVR2, possibly after the completion of additional content. Regrettably, it appears that this expectation may be more distant than before.
What is the present condition of Virtual Reality (VR)? Is it finding its niche in an industry where established AAA projects often fail, leaving developers disheartened? Dive into the discussion section below to share your thoughts.
