As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I must say I’m genuinely excited about the upcoming updates for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. The focus on PvE play was appreciated, and now, the promise of PvP content in 2025 has me eagerly awaiting those dog days of summer next year.
The teaser of a close-quarters competitive map and the Salamander Champion character has my adrenaline pumping already. I can almost hear the distant roar of bolters and feel the vibrations from the ground as I charge into battle.
Custom PvP lobbies in 2025 are the cherry on top for me. The ability to set modifiers, player counts (up to 6v6), and remove restrictions like how many players can select the same class is music to my ears. It’s about time we had more control over our gaming experience!
Horde Mode still coming later in 2025? Count me in! And let’s not forget that Prestige Rank system, allowing us to upgrade our classes even further. I can already see the competitive spirit heating up among my fellow gamers as we race to be the best of the best.
Now, if only they could add a “respawn as a baby Ork” option for those times when things aren’t going your way… because who doesn’t love a good laugh when you’re getting your butt kicked? 😉
In December, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 received a substantial update primarily aimed at enhancing its Player vs Environment (PvE) gameplay. Developer Saber Interactive hinted that those who enjoy Player vs Player (PvP) will receive updates in 2025. They’ve given us a sneak peek of a combat-focused map for close-quarters play and the Salamander Champion character, with both the champion and the map promised to be accessible in both PvP and PvE modes.
In its December community update (thanks, MP1st), Sabre Interactive announced some exciting news: Custom PvP lobbies are expected in 2025! This means players will be able to customize modifiers, team sizes (up to 6vs6), and even remove limitations like the number of players choosing the same class. The developer also confirmed that Horde Mode is still planned for release in 2025, albeit a bit later, and hinted at the introduction of a Prestige Rank system, enabling players to advance their classes even more.
